Fluid and beautiful draped scarves are the perfect way to dress up any outfit and wear art where you go.
These scarves were created from my watercolor painting of Cedar Waxwings. After being scanned at 10 000 pixels I then created a series of repeating patterns using my birds and some other watercolor flowers I had on hand. Using photoshop I then designed some complimentary patterns and designed this beautiful square format scarf.

‼️How to Clean a Silk Scarf‼️
1. Hand wash is recommended. Fill a clean sink or large bowl with cold water (<30 °C / 85 °F).
2. Add a very mild detergent such as Woolite or Dr. Bronner’s Baby Soap to the water and agitate the water to mix in the soap.
3. Gently handwash the silk item by pulsing the water with your hand several times to move the soapy water through the fabric.
4. Rinse the item in cold water until all soap residue has been removed.
5. Press the water out of the fabric by rolling it in a towel. DO NOT twist or wring, as this will damage the fabric.
6. Hang the wet scarf and allow it to air dry completely. DO NOT hang silk garments in the sun to dry.
About the Fabrics
Silk Modal
Modal silk is a wood pulp based cellulosic fibre made from beech trees extract. The cellulose extracted from the beech trees is spinned manually to make it into a beautiful modal silk fabric.
Modal silk is believed to be a more eco-friendly alternative for cotton as it uses 10 to 20 times less water during production and less land requirements for crops.
Modal is relatively more expensive than cotton as processing the Beechwood into Cellulose fibre is much more taxing and is done manually than processing natural fibres like cotton etc. Modal is also hundred percent biodegradable and has found a widespread admiration by the sustainable fashion supporters, given all the goodness that it has to offer.
Modal was first developed in 1951 in Japan. Modal silk blends in harmony with cotton to give your outfit the smooth texture of silk on the outside and the comfort of cotton on the inside.
Silk Charmeuse
Charmeuse – which is a French word meaning “charmer’’ -- is a special weave of silk that is shiny and lustrous on one side with a matte finish on the reverse. Charmeuse is the most popular weave of silk for pillowcases, sheets, and bedding. In this article we will discuss what defines a charmeuse weave, including why it is so special; compare charmeuse to other types of silk weaves; and tell you how to care for your charmeuse silk bedding.
Silk habotai fabric is the type of a plain weave silk cloth renowned for its fineness, light weight, softness, sheen and silky hand. All-natural, it is most commonly used for lining, as well as for creating summer blouses, pareo, light lingerie and scarves.
Silk Habotai
The Japanese part of the name is explained by the fact that silk habotai fabric originates from Japan. However, just as in the case of Sea Island cotton, most silk habotai production is currently located abroad — in China. The most luxury fabrics of that kind are manufactured in Italy and France. This fabric has its French etymology, too, and is called ‘toile’. Though the term ‘toile’ refers not only to silk, but also to all sheer natural fabrics with a repeating printed pattern on it, silk French toile makes a real alternative to the traditional habotai fabrics. What makes habotai different from toile is that the Japanese term applies to solid styles as well.
